The A-002M gyroplane is developed by the Lightweight Aviation Design Bureau of the IRKUT Corporation. Currently, flight tests are almost completed and series manufacturing is starting.

A 3-seater A-002M performs short run (up to 30 m) take-off and land on unprepared limited-size ground pads.

The overall dimensions of the folded gyroplane are 5,80 x 2,40 x 2,65 m.

The gyroplane is developed in accordance with the AP-27 (FAR-27) requirements and ensures high flight safety.

• environmental monitoring;
• monitoring of power lines and gas / oil pipelines;
• transportation of passengers and lightweight cargoes;
• administrative / liaison tasks;
• search-and-rescue tasks;
• emergency ambulance service in remote areas;
• forestry and agriculture monitoring;
• meteorological and ice condition surveillance;
• aerial tourism;
• aerial photo imagery;
• pilot training;
• special tasks.

Modifications:

1.      piloted gyroplane, with two passengers, serial production started;

2.      piloted gyroplane, equipped with the optronic system, real-time mode data transmission channel and ground control station for data reception and processing, serial production started;

3.      unmanned modification of gyroplane, equipped with the optronic system, remote-control and data transmission radiolink, ground control station, with extended time of autonomous flight up to 5 hours is under development.   

Operational features:

• fuelling with the AI-98 gasoline;
• low operational and maintenance costs;
• towing by light wheeled vehicle;
• landing on unprepared pads;
• moderate piloting skills required.
